Royal Fun Run FAQ
When will the Royal Fun Run take place?
The Royal Fun Run will be on Tuesday, May 23rd. There will be three “waves” of different grade levels:
9:15-10:15 2nd, 3rd and 4th
11-12 PS, PK, K and 1st
1:30-2:30 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th
Where will the Royal Fun Run take place?
The Royal Fun Run will take place on the grass fields behind the North carpool lot.
Where should I park?
You should park in front of the church.
Will this affect carpool?
Yes, it will affect afternoon carpool in the North lot. The North gates will open at 2:30 and cars will be able to enter the lot then.
How long will each run last?
Each run will be roughly 35 minutes. We have allotted an hour for transition time to and from the track.
Can my child walk rather than run?
YES!
Is this a race?
NO!
How long is a lap?
Direct quote from the Boosterthon: “1 lap is about 1/16th of a mile, students will run about 2 miles. They have so much fun, they won't even notice.” 😊
How many laps will students run?
Students will complete between 30-35 laps.
What does my child need to wear?
Fun Run T-shirt (should have come home Friday, 5/19), St. Simon athletic shorts if possible. Otherwise, athletic shorts. Running shoes.
Be sure to apply sunscreen to your child before school! They will not be outside for too long, but it is still supposed to be hot and sunny!
What should I pack for lunch?
It is a normal school day for lunch. The cafeteria will be open.
Should my child bring a water bottle?
YES! Please make sure their name is on the bottle.
Do I need to check into the office?
Yes! We need to know who is on campus. All volunteers and spectators must enter through the church front doors and check-in at the SCHOOL office before entering the track area. No parents/guests may enter the track area without checking in at the school office first.
Will there be a Kona Ice truck?
Yes, the Kona Ice truck will be there from 10-12. The school has developed a schedule so that every class can visit the Kona Ice truck during that time period.
Will there be bounce houses?
No. Boosterthon will bring an inflatable tunnel and laps markers, but no bounce houses.
Can I, a parent, run in the Fun Run?
No, but we appreciate your enthusiasm😊This event is for students only. You are more than welcome to come and cheer!
