The Teacher Appreciation Week Committee will plan and coordinate special events for the teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week in the spring. The PFO provides the budget for this week.
Donuts with Dads / Muffins with Moms Committees will plan, coordinate and staff these two events. The dates are scheduled for 12/2 (Donuts with Dads) and 2/14 (Muffins with Moms).
Movie Nights Committee plans the dates, locations (indoor or outdoor), movie, snacks, etc. for each Movie Night. Movie Night Committee members will coordinate volunteers for the evening and help to staff movie nights.
The Teacher Luncheons Committee helps to organize and coordinate a special meal for the staff each month.
The 12 Days of Christmas Committee plans the special events for the staff in the 12 days leading up to Christmas Break. In years past, these events/treats have included: beverage cart, gift wrapping, chili lunch, scavenger hunt, hot chocolate bar, and much more!
Volunteers for fundraising will help with effortless fundraising drives and the Royal Fun Run that will take place in May 2023.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute class parties: Halloween (K-5), Christmas, Valentine's (K-5), End of Year Celebration. - Assist PFO execute staff appreciation week in May.
- Communicate with families via email and class Facebook page regarding class, school, and parish volunteer opportunities, social events, and important announcements.
- Communicate with the teacher regarding class parties and volunteer needs.
- Attend quarterly Room Parent Meetings.
The Outreach Committee will work with the PFO Board and school administration to research and plan guest speaker experiences for both the student body and parents.

2. Apply for and have a clear volunteer background check (found on the Safe Parish website)
3. Attend a Chaperone Meeting at the school. First Chaperone meeting is August 17 and the second is August 31st.

1. Background check - You will receive an email if your background check has expired. Background checks are good for five years. If your background check has expired you will need to complete the Safe Parish Class located at: https://www.archindysafeparish.org/ and submit an application for a volunteer background check.
2. If you do not receive an email you are eligible to volunteer and chaperone for the upcoming school year.
3. You only need to attend one Chaperone Meeting during your time at St. Simon.
